School Uniform

The uniform gives a professional look to our school and helps break down social barriers that can sometimes affect the young and impressionable minds. Uniforms must be worn daily, except as allowed by school policy.

• Girls are required to wear the hijab during Quran/Islamic Studies classes and during salat. However, hijab is not mandatory for the girls except for the times mentioned above. Wearing a kufis is optional for boys.
• Personal hygiene is an integral part of Islamic life. Students should attend school well groomed. Fingernails must be trimmed, hair combed and a neat and clean uniform unadorned is the standard appearance expected at all times.
• Nail polish, perfume, and jewelry are not permitted.
• Baseball type caps are not permitted.
• Open-toed and high-heeled shoes are not permitted.
• Shorts are not permitted for grades 2 and above.
• No permanent or sticker tattoos are allowed.
• Socks must be worn at all times.

Purchase

School uniforms are available at a variety of stores including Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, and Dillard’s.

Failure to wear uniform:

If for any reason the student is not able to come to school in uniform, the parents must send a signed note with the student explaining the reason. “It’s in the laundry” is not acceptable as an excuse.
In all other cases, the student will not be allowed to attend classes without proper uniform. Parents will be notified by phone to solve the situation. Children may either be taken home for the change or the uniform can be brought to school.
